Oxford Landing Estates vineyard was established in 1958 on the banks of the Murray River in South Australia. With an innovative and colourful history spanning 50 years, Oxford Landing Estates has many hallmarks, including vineyard sustainability practices, down-to-earth individuals unashamedly passionate about this special place, and a collection of wines that capture and retain the natural, vibrant flavours and splendour of the Oxford Landing Estates vineyard.


The sandy soils of Oxford Landing Estates require careful water management as they readily dry out during the summer months. Supplementary irrigation strategy and canopy management are adapted to suit each individual site in order to provide a good balance of light and shade in the canopy and maximise fruit quality. An exceptionally cool vintage with steady rain throughout the growing and ripening season meant that the vines developed robust canopies. Mild weather throughout December- March provided optimal ripening conditions allowing the fruit to ripen gradually to produce varietal Shiraz flavours. Fermentation was carried out in a combination of static and rotary fermenters under warm temperature conditions for a period of six days. This creates a good balance between extracting the appropriate tannin for wine structure and retaining fruit drive and aromatics.

Winemaker’s Comments

A deep purple red, the Oxford Landing Estates Shiraz has lifted aromas of plums and black cherries with hints of violets and white pepper. The generous palate has dark berry fruit flavours of blackberry and plum, complimented by soft, supple tannins with hints of chocolate and spice. The subtle oak influence and bright fruit flavours linger during the long succulent finish. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
